I've never believed that any label producing an edition "limited" by the agreement with the Musicians Union (or even re-recordings limited to a set number of units, such as the three-disc EL CID set [though I have no reason to believe that Tadlow ever exceeded the run it advertised]) actually stamp only the number indicated.  It's obviously impossible for anyone to police, and who's really going to begrudge a label trying to wring a few extra dollars from so precarious an arrangement as issuing, or recording anew a CD for a market that is estimated to be no more than three-thousand worldwide.
