David Schecter wrote: About 20 years ago, Tony Thomas asked my wife Kathleen Mayne and I to arrange a suite of music from THE MAN IN HALF MOON STREET based on the original full scores, if I recall. Tony was really into short suites back then, but we tried to get as many important cues into the suite as possible. I remember one noteworthy, but short, motif wasn't included in any of those cues, so we figured out a way of using it as a transition between two other cues. I have no idea if Intrada's HALF MOON presentation was off those same scores or what. I remember a year or so ago Danny Robbins had asked for my wife's computer-generated scores and parts that she created two decades ago, but for the life of me I can't recall if we found them or what. They were so old they were on 3 1/2" floppy discs formatted for one of the earliest version of Finale, and I only remember searching for them in storage. For whatever reason I can't recall if I ever found them or not! Probably a good sign that my mind is starting to go. In any event, it's a fabulous score -- one of Rozsa's rare horror/sci-fi scores, and one of the climactic cues was one of his best, with some sparkling percussion. I do recall watching a boot of the movie at the time to try to hear the music, and between the underdubbed music in the picture and the terrible quality of the dupe, it wasn't easy to hear and/or enjoy the music in its filmic context. But it's a terrific Rozsa concoction, kind of between one of his film noir scores and sci-fi/horror creations like THE POWER and TIME AFTER TIME. But again, that was 20 years ago and it will be interesting to see what sort of opinion I have all these years later. I will inform Tony's daughter that one of her father's wishes has finally come true, regardless of whether any of Tony's work on the project had anything to do with the present project.thanks David, now in the PMS 52 I found this words :THE MAN IN HALF MOON STREET (fourteen minute suite prepared by MR many years ago and recently discovered in a closet by Tony.
