It'll be interesting to compare the two recent performances of the "Sahara" suite, though I'd have been happier if that opportunity hadn't presented itself via this unfortunate coincidence. It also seems to me that at forty-seven minutes, the new CD is rather brief by modern standards. Granted, recording these things is an expensive undertaking, but one might think that Intrada might have held the disc's release back till they could have filled it out by tacking a few tracks onto the back end of later, unrelated, recording sessions as some labels have been known to do.

Avie, as far as I know, Mr. Fake mentioned that the contents and programme of this CD are those that were intended for the fourth Polydor album back in the 1970s that was sadly axed.  I recall a short paragraph in a recordings dictionary from back then that said the 'historical Rozsa' series was discontinued.  Intrada have dared to continue the material after all this time, and are to be commended.

Consequently, you have an LP-length presentation in line with the previous three.
