11 July (Friday) 2014, 8 pm. Budapest, Hungary. The El CId March. Margaret Island Open-air Stage. During the concert, we will fittingly honor triple Oscar award winner Miklós Rózsa, who held his only concert in Hungary at exactly this site forty years earlier. Conductor Nic Raine and the Budapest Symphony Orchestra return with a sensational soundtrack program in which, like last year, Mónika Veres and Bálint Gájer will collaborate. In addition, a recurring motif of the concert is a video compilation especially prepared for this occasion to accompany and complement the music to provide a memorable musical experience. The program invites the audience on a worldwide tour, where all of the major geographical areas are associated with a familiar soundtrack. The borders literally extend to the starry sky. The soundtrack to the “Film music around the world" concert features among others, the music of John Barry, Hans Zimmer, James Horner, Maurice Jarre, Nino Rota and Vangelis. 19 July 2014 Amsterdam (Netherlands). Heroes and Villains. Dutch Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ernst van Tiel - Concertgebouw, Grote Zaal. Nederlands Symfonieorkest, Presenter Peter Blok. The first of two 'At the Movies' concerts and focuses on Heroes and villains from Hollywood. Overwhelming movie music takes the listener on a journey through time. To the medieval Sherwood, where Robin Hood steals from the rich, and to the Wild West of Ennio Morricone. The Dutch Symphony Orchestra is led by Ernst van Tiel. Together they bring Batman, Superman and Indiana Jones to life. Thrills and spills! Actor Peter Block gives some background about the movies and the music. In another life, he is the voice of heroes like Tarzan and Shrek. From Blok's year of birth echo sounds of the film music of Bernard Herrmann, Hitchcock's composer-in-residence. Also, various pieces can be heard from the award-winning John Williams. And there's more... from Ben-Hur to Gladiator. This is real surround sound! External links: Details & tickets
