February 4 - 23, 2015 Denver music organization bringing orchestra music to schools throughout Colorado. Inside the Orchesrtra. Where did movie music composer John Williams ('Harry Potter') get his inspiration? One of his influences was film composer Miklos Rozsa whose work spanned five decades. Rozsa invented various themes to tie in the story: a main theme/march, a love theme, and the "bad guy tune". His many film credits include: 'Ben Hur,' 'King of Kings,' and 'El Cid,' the epic flicks of the 50s and early 60s. HIs last film was 'Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid,' which starred actor Steve Martin. In the winter Tiny Tots series, we will feature his main score from 'Quo Vadis' which will highlight all the families of instruments that make up an orchestra. The infectious melody will sound like Roman Soldiers marching down the Appian Way. Each section of the orchestra will demonstrate their fanfares: the brass, strings, winds and percussion-- and then we will put the music back together.
