I recently stumbled across a little crime flick called 711 Ocean Drive (1950). Lots of talky scenes, but then there's a car chase across the Nevada desert near the end that is scored with taut, angular, energetic music akin to what Rozsa might have written. It wasn't so much the inimitable Rozsa style -- just the way he would have approached such a scene. (He did score several such scenes in Desert Fury, a score that refuses to linger in my memory.) Anyway, I was guessing Previn or Kaper, but it turned out this was a Columbia picture scored by Sol Kaplan.
