The contents and layout of movie programs sold at the Japanese theaters (for the big movie) were usually exact same format as the original English version except it was translated into Japanese. But in the case of "The Bible", they added extra page for Mayuzumi's essay. In it he stated that initially they wanted Stravinsky for the music but because of the complication with the publisher they could not do it. Then Huston listened "Nervana Symphony" of Mayuzumi and asked him to do the music. The initial contract was Mayuzumi to compose from the beginning to "Tower of Babel", and Petrassi to finish the movie with "Abraham". However Huston nor Laurentiis did not like the music Petrassi wrote. So Mayuzumi ended up with composing for the entire picture. The recording was done in Rome, and then the separation to the channels were done in Todd-Ao studio in Hollywood.
