The sound is somewhat improved over the Legend LP transfer I've been listening to for the last several years, but the notes, such as they are -- two pages among 14 other pages of photos and poster reproductions -- are dreadful beyond description

Lee, I have to congratulate you for so quickly arriving at this conclusion. I'm still trying to decipher the notes with a magnifying glass, and may be at for most of the year--provided my eyes hold out. Anyone who's received his copy will know what I mean.

As for the sound, it's mildly improved over the 2 LP set, with the emphasis on mildly. There's not much one can do with sound like this, where the strings attack your ears like tiny scimitars and distortion is as constant as the whir of an air conditioner. It's listenable, and unless Mr. Tadlow (dear Mr. Tadlow ;) ) decides to add S & G to his list acomplishments, is probably the best we're ever going to get. I guess we should be grateful.
