I was listening to this again recently. I think it's possible this dance was an alternative cue to 'A Children's Game' much the same length. It ddoes indeed sound too modern, E. European 'Fiddler on the Roof' as Mischka said. Yet the percussion and general sound technique suggest it was recorded at the same time or by the same ensemble, with the same arranger as Rozsa's mood for the rest. It has those 'Hora' almost jazz slides in the woodwind though that don't suggest an interpretation of Idelsohn but rather a traditional but recent piece. Odd.
