DISC 2

1. Intermezzo [BMG disc]

2. Within the Walls of Sodom [Digitmovies disc]

3. The Will of Jehovah [Digitmovies disc]
4. Jealousy [BMG disc] These two pieces underscore two parallel “love” scenes and form one continuous piece. Overlap the final chord of “The Will of Jehovah” with the beginning of “Jealousy.” Again, highlight the overlap and reduce it by 2 db, and if you wish, you can mark an index point for the beginning of track 4.

5. Dance of the Twins [Both the Digitmovies disc 2 and the BMG disc] The Digitmovies cue is really two pieces! The second part (beginning at the 2:50 mark) of the Digitmovies cue and the track 11 on the BMG disc (mislabelled as “Dance of the Sinners”) are different takes of the same music, so you’ll want both on your CD-R compilation. Overlay the beginning of the BMG cue just before the Digitmovies cue fades out completely. The BMG version is the one that appears in the film. The first 2:50 of the Digitmovies cue appears in the film, but it involves a whole dance troupe – no twins! – so I would suggest that those 2:50 are the actual “Dance of the Sinners” and track 6 (not used in the film) is an alternate. Confused? I’ll repeat:
•        the last minute or so of Digitmovies disc 2, track 5 (not used in the film) and track 11 of the BMG disc (used in the film) are two slightly different versions of the “Dance of Twins”;
•        the first 2:50 of Digitmovies disc 2, track 5 (used in the film) and Digitmovies disc 2, track 6 (not used in the film) are two very different versions of “Dance of the Sinners.”

6. Dance of the Sinners [Digitmovies disc] Unused alternate.

7. Escaping Slaves [Digitmovies disc]

8. Astaroth's Overthrow [Digitmovies disc]
9. Prison [Digitmovies disc] For dramatic continuity and listening purposes, I overlayed “Prison” just before “Astaroth's Overthrow” fades out.

10. Messengers of Jehovah [Digitmovies disc]
11. Free Again [Digitmovies disc] These two pieces should flow continuously. Overlay the beginning of “Free Again” with the fade-out of “Messengers of Jehovah.” [Actually I took a few extra seconds of the continuation of “Messengers of Jehovah” from the laserdisc (with a little bit of tricky editing of sound effects, some stereo processing and a little reverb) and used them as a go-between to join the two tracks, but the simple overlay described in the previous sentence will do nearly just as well.]

12. Lot's Mission [Digitmovies disc]

14. Destruction of Sodom [BMG disc]
15. Pillar of Salt [BMG disc] These two pieces should be continuous. I overlayed “Pillar of Salt” just before “Destruction of Sodom” completely fades out.
16. Epilogue [BMG disc] Again, I overlayed “Epilogue” just before “Pillar of Salt” completely fades out. Based on the way the composer constructed his Finale/Epilogues on the KING OF KINGS and EL CID LPs, I’m sure that Rózsa would have like it this way.
