Yes, it's a classic theme, but it's also a great theme. Of course Rozsa didn't write it, but only Rozsa could arrange it the way that he did to bring out those qualities in it described above.

My favorite arrangement of the Lygia theme is the version heard in the "Epilogue" which supposedly was made for the Decca LP, but didn't appear in the actual film. Its great strength is that so much of it soars step-wise ever upward, as if rising on a heavenly bound staircase. Somehow it is more of a prayer of the soul than a mere description of any emotion felt between Taylor and Kerr.
