I have a copy of this and I've done a little investigation on it. I believe the major portions of this LP were simply taken (pilfered?) from a Diplomat LP: Mutiny and the Bounty, which also included excerpts from El Cid, King of Kings, and Cimarron. It was played by the Film Spectacular Soundtrack Orchestra, conducted by "Nicholas Andriano". Most everything Diplomat issued was simply licensed from some European source, so this may have actually been some Hamburg or Nuremberg ensemble. If all this supposition on my part is correct, I may have a source that can identify the actual conductor, but that's kind of a long shot.
You can get a look at the Diplomat LP here:

If I recall correctly, the "War and Peace" selections on the "Shostakovich" LP are not from War and Peace at all. It's just a recording of the 1812 Overture, the same recording that has turned up on at least a dozen bargain LP labels, each using a different pseudonymn for the conductor.
