Somewehre there's a photo of Waxman reviewing the score with Rozsa. One of Waxman's contributions to music is too often forgotten: For years he sponsored and led the Los Angeles International Music Festival. Its summer programs brought many West Coast premieres to L.A. for composers including Stravinsky, Shostakovich, and Vaughan Williams. In MR's eyes, I suspect that that festival counted for more than all of Waxman's films put together.
