I understand that a few years ago Fox made a new 70mm print of the film. I believe it was the longest version available. I don't know if the Bing Theater at the LA County Museum of Art has 70mm equipment.

Back when they had a Cinemascope festival which was sometime in the 1970's, their sound left much to be desired. The hadn't the foggiest idea of how to properly set up for magnetic four track. The speakers were placed haphazardly in front of the screen and the surrounds were cranked up so high that the annoying trigger tone drove people nuts. Unfortunately many of the prints shown had faded to pink so in an attempt to color-correct them they placed gels placed in front of the projection lens. The result was that the heat caused the gels to melt which distorted the image. After a lot of complaining they removed the gels.
