(By the way, that last word above, in this country also means a stupid mistake!)..........

.........and it sometimes seems like the good old "Auntie" BBC does make boobs; including not keeping --or at least not being able to locate-- vintage archival material.

I was asked by the producers of the recent BBC 4 TV documentary, if I could provide anything on Rozsa of a rare or unusual nature, and I suggested broadcasts/ interviews from BBC Radios 2 and 3 from the past. This included the afore-mentioned "Desert Island Discs" and even an interview from a '70s TV programme called "Film Night", which I have on an old audio cassette.

They had mislaid the "D I D"; knew nothing of the TV interview. And similarly seemed to have little else at their fingertips with which to use in their documentary.
What chance we have of their locating a good sounding radio transcription from the '40s........well I suppose none of us should hold our breath.
