Mr Seckerson makes the right noises and tries his best to present a balanced programme, for those who have little or no knowledge of the subject composer or performer. Unfortunately, he adds no spice, only sugar to aid a soothing digestion for such an audience.

And this happened with the Rozsa one, and the one on North late last year. There were a few minor errors, like the THIEF/J BOOK mix up as already mentioned, but most of it held up; even an inclusion of the complete Heifetz/Vln Concerto Slow movement, (with an obvious Holmes tie-in). But no mention of SPELLBOUND, LOST WEEKEND or any of the '50s Historicals? Rather strange......

The "Film Night" on TV was with Messrs. Jenkinson and Morley, with Rozsa in the Studio looking very debonair as I remember. One of the clips was from NAKED CITY, but it is one with Barry Fitzgerald which has Skinner's score, not Rozsa's. Another is the powerful opening of ASPHALT JUNGLE, which still sounds so effective to this day.
And Rozsa at one point enlightens the presenters that a composer for films has to have a pencil in one hand and a stopwatch in the other; if he needs to play the piano he has to use his nose !!

(Of course that shows up the age of the interview; now such composers use their hands on a computer keyboard.......)
