I just love the mistaken spelling of the little thief's name. Such serendipitous juxtapositions (as this with the great Bengali realist Satyajit Ray's Apu trilogy) just make my day -- as well as shifting the scene a couple of thousand miles to the east!

Rex Ingram has also undergone a similar elevation to Abraham (who was once 'Abram') in that he is now 'Ingrahams'. Still, at least Mr. Kaufman manages to convey what might be infectious and is keen on the material. If I were unscrupulous, I'd get this DVD and mercilessly rip the MFX track for my CDRs. But of course I wouldn't. That'd be like stealing honey from the bazaar. Maybe I would.

Satyajit Ray, by the way, used to score his own films. An all-rounder.
